응시자가 부딪히는 세 가지 문제Three problems candidates run into

1핸드북을 끝까지 읽어 보셨나요?Have you read the Candidate Handbook?

시험 정보는 협회의 Candidate Handbook에 모두 있습니다. 하지만 정독하는 응시자는 많지 않고, 읽지 않으면 놓치는 내용이 있습니다.Everything about the exam is in the Candidate Handbook. Few candidates read it closely, and some of what it says is easy to miss.

• 빈칸을 남기지 마세요. 틀리거나 비워도 감점이 없으니, 빈칸은 그냥 손해입니다.Never leave a blank. Wrong or blank answers cost nothing.
• 복수선택은 개수를 넘기면 0점입니다. 시험 화면은 경고하지 않습니다.Choose more than the stated number and a multiple-select item scores zero. The exam screen will not warn you.
• 최대 10%는 채점하지 않는 실험 문항입니다. 어느 문항인지는 알 수 없으니 모든 문항을 똑같이 푸세요.Up to 10% of items are unscored experiments. You cannot tell which, so treat every item the same.
• 문항의 70–90%는 임상 적용 문제입니다. 외운 내용을 변증과 치료 선택으로 연결하는 연습이 필요합니다.70–90% of items are clinical application. Practise turning facts into pattern and treatment choices.
• Tongue, Pulse 용어가 시험에서는 교재와 다르게 출제됩니다.일부 TCM 교재는 Tongue 용어를 sticky, without coating으로 쓰지만, 실제 시험에서는 greasy, peeled로 씁니다. Pulse 용어도 fine, full 대신 thready, excessive로 씁니다.Tongue and pulse terms on the exam differ from some textbooks.Some TCM textbooks say sticky and without coating for the tongue; the exam says greasy and peeled. For the pulse, the exam uses thready and excessive instead of fine and full.
• 시간이 빠듯합니다. MC는 문항당 약 72초, CC는 약 3분 45초입니다.Time is tight. About 72 seconds per MC item and 3 min 45 s per CC item.

2문제은행의 문제The problem with question banks

시험을 준비하다 보면 여러 종류의 기출문제와 Mock Exam을 접하게 됩니다. 몇 가지를 따져 봐야 합니다.While preparing you will come across many past-exam collections and mock exams. Three things are worth checking.

• 그 문제가 실제 기출인지 확인할 방법이 없습니다. 핸드북 행동 강령(Appendix B)은 시험 문항 내용의 공유와 토론을 금지하므로 검증할 수 없습니다.You cannot tell whether a "past exam" question was ever on the exam. The Handbook's Code of Conduct (Appendix B) prohibits sharing or discussing exam content, so there is no way to verify it.
• 핸드북의 출제 기준을 얼마나 반영하는지 알 수 없습니다. 영역별 비중을 지켰는지는 불분명합니다.You cannot tell how closely a mock follows the blueprint. Whether it keeps the Handbook's weighting of practice areas is unclear.
• 가장 큰 문제는 정답만 있다는 점입니다. 왜 정답인지, 다른 보기는 왜 틀렸는지, 비슷한 문제는 어떻게 푸는지, 주 교재 어디에 있는지를 알려 주지 않습니다.The biggest problem is that most give only the answer. They do not say why it is correct, why the other options are wrong, how to approach a similar question, or where in your main textbook the point comes from.

운 좋게 풀어 본 문제 몇 개가 시험에 나온다고 해도 합격이 보장되지는 않습니다. 문제은행은 정답을 외우려고 푸는 것이 아닙니다.And even if a few questions you practised appear on the exam, that does not guarantee a pass. A question bank is not for memorizing answers.

3AI의 문제The problem with AI

AI는 정답으로 가는 길을 빠르게 알려 주기도 합니다. 하지만 그럴듯하고 자신 있는 어조로 틀린 내용을 말할 때가 있습니다. 혈위 위치, 맥 이름, 원서 인용처럼 정확해야 하는 부분에서 특히 그렇습니다.AI can point you to an answer quickly. But it can also state something wrong in a confident, plausible tone, especially where precision matters: point locations, pulse names, textbook quotations.

• 출처를 지어낼 수 있습니다. 존재하지 않는 장이나 쪽수를 붙이는 일이 있습니다.It can invent sources. It may attach a chapter or page number that does not exist.
• 교재마다 다른 용어를 섞을 수 있습니다. 같은 맥도 저자마다 이름이 다르고, 시험은 핸드북의 용어를 따릅니다.It can mix terminology between textbooks. The same pulse has different names in different books, and the exam follows the Handbook.
• 맞을 때와 틀릴 때의 어조가 같습니다. 공부하는 사람이 스스로 가려내기 어렵습니다.Right and wrong answers sound the same. A learner cannot easily tell them apart.
• 답만 받으면 확인하는 습관이 생기지 않습니다. 시험장에는 AI가 없습니다. 교재를 근거로 답을 검증하는 힘이 필요합니다.A bare answer builds no habit of checking. There is no AI in the exam room. You need to be able to verify an answer against the textbook.

그래서 AI의 도움을 받더라도, TCM 원서에서 출처를 확인하며 답을 찾는 방법을 알아야 합니다.So even if you use AI to study, you still need a way to find answers and check their sources in the TCM textbooks.

• 모든 Mock Exam을 핸드북의 출제 기준에 맞춰 만들었습니다. 장부 변증만으로는 부족합니다. Professionalism, Biomedicine, Safety도 비중이 있어 무시하면 점수를 잃습니다.Every mock exam is built to the Handbook's blueprint. Zang-Fu patterns alone are not enough. Professionalism, Biomedicine and Safety carry weight too, and ignoring them costs marks.
• 모든 문제에 상세 해설과 원서 출처를 담았습니다. 어느 교재의 어디인지 적어 두어 직접 펼쳐 확인할 수 있습니다.Every question has a detailed explanation and a textbook source. Which textbook and where, so you can open the book and check.
• 해설마다 외워야 할 내용을 정리했습니다. 푸는 데서 끝내지 않고 무엇을 기억할지까지 알려 드립니다.Every explanation lists what to memorize. Solving the question is not the end; you also learn what to remember.
• 주제별 Study Note를 제공합니다. 비슷한 문제를 분석해 푸는 방법을 정리했습니다.Study Notes show how to approach similar questions. They are organized by topic.

학습 순서How to study with it

시험을 치른 응시자의 조언을 참고해 설계에 반영했습니다. 핸드북 행동 강령(Appendix B)에 따라 시험 문항의 내용은 받지도 옮기지도 않았고, 준비 방향에 대한 일반적인 조언만 반영했습니다.We took the advice of a candidate who sat the exam into account in the design. In line with the Handbook's Code of Conduct (Appendix B), we neither asked for nor passed on any exam content, only general advice on preparing.
