Privacy policy
What we collect and why, where and how long we keep it, and what you can ask of us.
Who is responsible
The operator of TCM·STUDY is responsible for the personal information collected on this site; operator details are in our terms of use. Send privacy questions and requests to our privacy contact at [email protected].
We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect

We never receive your card number. Card details go directly to our payment processor, Stripe.
Free diagnostic answers and results are stored only in your browser and are not sent to our servers.
What we don’t do, and statistics
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
- We do not use advertising trackers or advertising cookies.
- We do not send marketing email without your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- We may combine results without names or email addresses (for example, average scores) to improve questions or show an “average of other test-takers”.
Browser storage
The site keeps the following in your browser’s storage (localStorage). Clearing it signs you out or resets these settings.

- Your language choice (English + 한국어 / English only)
- Free diagnostic progress
Service providers
We use the services below to run the site. They process information on our behalf and are contractually limited from using it for other purposes.

This information may be stored or processed outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.
How long we keep it
- Account and study records: until you delete your account. We may delete them three years after your last sign-in.
- Purchase and refund records: six years, as Canadian tax law requires.
- Support emails: two years after we resolve them.
- Technical logs: briefly, per our providers’ retention (usually days to weeks).
Your rights
You can ask us to do the following. Email [email protected] from your sign-in address and we will respond within 30 days.
- See the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and study records (except payment records we must keep for tax purposes)
- Withdraw consent, noting that we cannot provide paid content without sign-in and purchase records
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Security
- All connections are encrypted (HTTPS).
- The database uses row-level permissions, so each user can see only their own records.
- Sign-in uses email links, so we store no passwords.
- If we learn of a breach involving your information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
Age
This site is for adults preparing for the acupuncturist exam. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy we update the date above, and we email you about significant changes.
